5 Q&A With Kodaclips

What inspired you to write the lyrics/music for "Gone Is the Day?"

The lyrics were written thinking about our life, especially the ties with family and childhood, which are the same themes that inspired the musical composition.

Can you talk about the recording and production process for "Gone Is the Day?"

We self-produced and recorded the song in our bedrooms, the same places where the first sketches came from, then our drummer added some synth lines and finally James Aparicio did a great job by capturing the sound we had in our minds and crafted it with his own creativity.

How do you feel "Gone Is the Day" represents your artistic identity?

This song is representative of our music because of its dreamy sound blended with super distorted guitars, it has both the quiet and the storm that we like to develop our songwriting around.

How would you describe your musical style or genre?

We started this band with influences coming from very sad and dissonant music, we’ve always liked Shoegaze, dreamy and psychedelic atmospheres.

In this last record, anticipated by this single, our love for post-punk earned its own place.

Are there any upcoming projects or releases that you're particularly excited about?

We can’t wait for the full album to be out (September 6), meanwhile we’re working on the next single’s music video and also jamming on new musical ideas.
