Bromsen On the Making Of “Someone”

Can you share any interesting or unique stories or perspectives in "Someone?"

Karlo: “Someone” in its current form had evolved from a folk-pop song. We both love Luka Bloom’s Album “Turf” and this initial version kind of breathed that spirit. Maybe we’ll also release the song in an acoustic version one day.  I actually played the acoustic version of the song for my son's baptism to wish him that he would find his own way of doing things in life.

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for "Someone?"

I believe we recorded the vocals for “Someone” 3 times and invested much more time than for the other songs. It was not that easy to sing it in a way, that it works as an electropop song. In the end, Richard and I were very happy with the result.

How does "Someone" fit into your overall artistic vision and what can listeners expect from you in the future?

“Someone” is musically a good example that you sometimes cannot categorize music or things in general and this is also fitting to the message of the song – don’t spend too much time categorizing things and thinking about whether to take the way a) b) or c) – be brave, trust yourself and do it all your own way J.

What has been one of the most significant moments of your musical journey so far?

Karlo: That’s an easy one – meeting Richard, as it set the basis for our musical journey.

Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?

The melodies of the songs just come out of nowhere – that’s magic and we don’t even need to go to Hogwarts for this to happen J. When it comes to the lyrics it is really very different for each song – sometimes the words just come with the melody and sometimes you just start with a few words and then need to try and find out what the song wants to tell you so you can create a story around it - sometimes inspired by things that happen in our daily lives.
