DJ Pappy Releases "Let Them Play"
DJ Pappy is an Essex-based artist who has been commanding decks and captivating audiences for two decades. With a background deeply rooted in catchy pop sensibilities and an ear for irresistible chorus hooks, he brings a unique perspective to electronic music production. His journey has been shaped by early influences from boy bands like Westlife, whose anthemic melodies inspired his songwriting approach. Now channeling those formative experiences into original productions, DJ Pappy crafts tracks with genuine meaning and authenticity, writing every lyric himself without outside collaborators. His passion for poetry, wordplay, and ensuring vocals remain crisp and audible sets him apart in a crowded marketplace. Behind the music lies a deeply personal story—a tribute to a late friend who taught him to "be lucky," a homeless man he shared car journeys with, singing and creating songs together before that friend's dream of opening Bamboo bar became reality.
"Let Them Play" drops on 18th April 2026, arriving as a powerful football anthem with proceeds benefiting Macmillan Cancer Charity. This original single showcases DJ Pappy's evolution as a producer, embracing cutting-edge AI remix technology while maintaining the heartfelt songwriting that defines his work. Inspired emotionally by the Avicii documentary, the track channels that same ability to move listeners while delivering an undeniable hook designed to echo from football terraces across the nation. The release carries additional significance as it celebrates England's rich footballing heritage, rallying behind the national team with a chorus built for communal singing. With its perfect blend of contemporary production techniques and timeless pop sensibility, "Let Them Play" represents what DJ Pappy calls "the missing piece in a jigsaw puzzle"—a stress-relieving anthem that demonstrates music's enduring place in the heart while supporting an important charitable cause.
