Elliott Jones On the Making Of “Quite Like You”

What was the creative process like for this particular "Quite Like You?"

This song fell out of the sky having returned from an amazing trip. Chris Coulter and Jack Wrench (shoutout Arcane Roots) recorded the drums for me, then I recorded and mixed the song at my private studio.

Were there any challenges or breakthrough moments during the songwriting process for "Quite Like You?"

I hadn't stepped into the melancholy world too much before, so it was good to just let it flow and add some nice atmosphere and emotion to the song.

What do you like the best about "Quite Like You?"

It takes me back to a place where I always want to be and the chorus hits live..

Can you share a bit about your musical background and the journey that led you to where you are today?

I've dabbled in many genres and been in bands, but I've always written and produced at home over the past 10 or so years. It's an emotive output where I can say things that I don't know how to convey in real life. I've had a few setbacks, but still powering through!

What challenges have you faced as a singer-songwriter, and how have you overcome them?

I love writing and producing songs, but the recent challenge has been putting together a band to play live. I've had some really positive meetings recently so I'm optimistic for 2024! LETS GO.
