What's the story behind this release?
I wrote this song about an accident that happened when we were frolicking around with friends in a park on a very hazy summer night. We did some cartwheels and my nose started to bleed, and my friend comforted me. Looking back now, the starting point of the song is very amusing but I think it turned out to be a song about any personal or bigger tragedy. I think in this age and time the thing we need the most is empathy. The song is a dialogue between two people: the person in the verses is comforting the person in the chorus.
Tell us what makes this release stand out and why it's significan
The song is a unique combination of vulnerability and power. It's almost movie like, a big electronic pop song filled with emotions. It can comfort you and energize you at the same time.
What was unique about the recording process?
I did the production by myself and for example recorded myself banging sticks on various objects a lot. I also recorded myself playing piano and did a lot of vocal adlips and harmonies, which are my specialty as a producer.
Do you have any recent or upcoming performances to highlight?
Last year I played at one of the biggest festivals in Finland, QStock, without having any music out yet. I've also traveled to London from Finland many times by myself and done a lot of open mics and small shows there.
Could you share a memorable quote about this release or your journey as an artist?
I've practised my skills as a producer for many years now and I'm proud to have my first single entirely produced and mixed by me. It's important for me to do everything myself and it comes from a place of wanting to show to the world, that a woman can also make her music all by herself. It also comes from a place of creativity and over the years I've realized, that my passion is to build worlds with music. I want to be an example for little girls who are dreaming of becoming a musician.
