JT Catalano Release “Cheers”
A folk-pop / Americana anthem honoring the parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, counselors, and hometown figures who quietly raise us.
For JT Catalano, “Cheers” is more than a song—it is a tribute to the people who carried us before we even knew we were being carried. Built as a warm, rootsy anthem with acoustic guitar, banjo, piano, and a steady lift, the record honors parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors, coaches, preachers, and all “the ones who raised us.”
The song is rooted in Catalano’s own story. After leaving his hometown of Bethel, Connecticut, and spending fifteen years in South Florida chasing the wrong things, he returned home with a different perspective. What he found was that much of what he had been searching for had been there all along: family, grounding, memory, community, and the people whose sacrifices helped shape his life long before he fully understood their value.
"Cheers is my way of honoring the people who built us—my parents, grandparents, and all the everyday figures in a hometown who quietly help raise a generation. I wanted to write a song for the real ones: the coaches, teachers, counselors, preachers, the mothers and fathers, and everyone who carried us hour after hour.”
With its human delivery and singalong lift, “Cheers” is designed to feel both personal and communal—a song about legacy, gratitude, and coming full circle. Rather than chasing superheroes, it points to the everyday people whose love, discipline, and belief keep families and communities standing.
At its core, “Cheers” is about realizing that sometimes what we spend years chasing elsewhere was already planted in us by home.
