Leather Laces On the Making Of “Rocket Launcer”

Can you share any interesting or unique musical elements or production techniques used in “Rocket Launcher?”

We keep it simple and raw. Heavy distorted guitars, huge analog synths, and tight, precise drum machines—that’s our core. No gimmicks, no presets. Everything is played, tweaked, and pushed until it feels physical. You don’t hear “Rocket Launcher,” you feel it in your chest.

What impact do you hope “Rocket Launcher” will have on your audience?

We want it to feel like a wake-up call. Not in a political way—more like a sensory reset. It should hit hard, leave you slightly off balance, and make you want to listen again just to understand what hit you.

What did you enjoy most about making this track?

The tension. No part of the track was easy or smooth. That’s the point. We enjoy that friction—between machines, noise, and intention. It keeps us alert.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

We come from different backgrounds, mostly heavy music and experimental sound design. Leather Laces isn’t a classic band—it’s a shared mindset. We don’t rehearse songs, we build missions. Each track has a purpose. If it doesn’t feel necessary, we drop it.

Can you walk us through your creative process when writing and composing music?

We usually start from a concept or a visual—something cinematic, technical, or threatening. Then we sketch out structures in layers: noise, rhythm, message. Sometimes guitars come first, sometimes it's just a corrupted synth loop that leads everything. We build fast, destroy a lot, and keep only what sticks under pressure.
