Max Chaos On the Making Of “Ride The Wave”

What was the creative process like for this particular single?

On “RIDE THE WAVE” It all started in my studio noodling around with the digitech whammy guitar effects pedal, Justin comes in and plays over my guitar riffs and vox. Then the bass is added. Basically, the demo became the record with a lot of help bringing it to life from our Co-Producer.

How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for "Ride The Wave" to life?

We have a new producer/manager, Dan McConomy (The Doughboys, Agent Steel). Which is all new to us. He came in asked for additional guitars, drum sounds, and took the vox that were raw and unrefined then mixed it so it developed into a trademark sound that brings out every aspect of our performance with clarity, punch without overprocessing but rather enhances the energy of the song. Dan and his team of engineers Aurelien Pellerzi and Mohammad Reza Sadeghin went through six versions of the mix until they felt it was right. Then we decided together on Maor Appelbaum (VoidVod, Halford) to master it and lock in the vision we had about the song.

How does "Ride The Wave" fit into your overall artistic vision and what can listeners expect from you in the future?

I’m a normal everyday guy that just learned how to express the frustrations of the everyday madness we all go through in life in this day and age. Having this ability to express myself on how I deal with it when I wake up everyday to conquer the fears, doubts, and frustrations we face and providing an attitude one can use to be empowered to do so I guess is the mission as MAX CHAOS.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?

I have been playing guitar on and off since I was a young kid and last year I was going through some dark times and decided to make the first Max Chaos demos with a song called Derogatory that will be on the upcoming album ORDER OF MAYHEM. I sent it to a few people to see what they thought. Somehow it fell into the hands of Bigger Management. Dan called me and we talked for hours and he finally convinced me to go solo as Max Chaos. It’s quite inspiring to finally have a team that can possibly finally give me a real music career and the creativity is evolving to another level for me.

How do you continuously grow and evolve as an artist?

Keeping the train on the tracks is not easy. Like 99 percent of the artists on earth I have to pay the rent and put food on the table. Respecting the creative process is the real growth. Blocking out the noise of the outside world and keeping it real. Just laying it on the line without pretense or self critique then see what happens is how the magic happens for me anyway. Now I have a team that supports that process.
