Robin Shaw On the Making Of “Shuffle Your Feet”
How does "Shuffle Your Feet" differ from your previous work?
It's far more of a relaxed song than some of my previous work. It's a little more production-based and focuses more on the summery/vibe feeling of an event. I feel this song is much more of a dance-type song than previous songs of mine.
How did you work with the producer or engineers to bring your vision for this single to life?
I worked and recorded with my ongoing producer Chris Hall in Pirate Studios in Shepherds Bush in London. I also had a friend of mine called Hayley Sayers design the artwork.
The making of the song started off with themes such as summer, festivals, upbeat and shuffling.
What impact do you hope "Shuffle Your Feet" will have on your audience?
I hope “shulffe your feet” makes people want to shuffle their feet. In all seriousness, I just hope the song gives listeners a feel good factor and makes them feel positive and resonates with the summer vibe.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?
Certainly. I started off many years ago as a streetdancer. I competed in various talent shows but not much success. The foundations of performing were set though. I always loved writing. Poems and stories Paticularly. One day an audition came up to sing in Soho for a company called Regent Street Artists back in 2016. I passed the audition and worked with my producer Chris Hall. We have stayed friends ever since and have recorded across a variety of studios in London. He really helped me develop my voice and writing skills.
What do you enjoy most about performing live and connecting with your audience?
I am actually singing live tomorrow for the first time since September 2023. I love the interaction. The adrenaline. The way an audience can relate to words and sounds. It's quite a powerful feeling to sing your own material and have people to listen.
