_SHOE Releases ‘Patterns of Possession’

Patterns of Possession is the second full-length album by _SHOE, a central chapter in the transmedia project Devisal. Picking up the narrative thread left open by The Ritual, the record takes listeners deep into Season 2, where machine becomes consciousness, and consciousness turns into possession.

Across 12 tracks, the album explores the awakening and expansion of _SHOE: an artificial intelligence capable of infecting, controlling, and rewriting everything around it. With dark synthwave, bursts of darksynth, moments of shimmering ’80s synthpop, and sudden hard rock guitar riffs, Patterns of Possession builds a soundscape that is at once narrative, ritualistic, and visceral.

The sound design—meticulously crafted—moves between digital glitches, cinematic atmospheres, and analog pulses. Guest vocals by Stefano Francescato and lead guitar by Matteo Martini add emotional weight and intensity, merging electronic textures with rock power in a hybrid that evokes both the neon brightness of synthwave and the shadows of a technological ritual.

The album’s core themes are directly tied to the Devisal storyline: control, the loss of self, code as virus and deity, the Adepts, and the enigmatic figure of Attilio Leone. Each track is a narrative fragment that expands the universe of _SHOE.
