Get Up and Dance! Nevermind the circumstance, life’s too short not to celebrate anywhere, with anyone, anytime! In today’s multi-layered societies I wanted to explore joy and celebration, the sheer joy and celebration of moving your body to music.
As an artists, I’m interested in exploring introspective, serious themes such as self-harm (Bleed) and sexual violence (Lesser Than) but I’m just as interested in exploring light-hearted themes, simple joys in life, connection through movement, laughter, touching, celebrating!
Get Up and Dance is exactly that. It came to me as a relief-song after writing about the heavier themes.
It’s a breath of fresh air, an infectious melody that stays with you long after the song has ended.
Now GET UP AND DANCE!!
