Uncanny Valley Girls Release "Me and My Satellite"
Since 2018, Uncanny Valley Girls have become an exciting name in London's grassroots music scene, building a reputation for their electrifying live shows, unforgettable stage presence, and sharply crafted songs.
Fronted by Michael Bissett and backed by a revolving cast of talented friends, the band has won over audiences with a blend of wit, infectious melodies and charismatic showmanship.
Hot on the heels of last month’s 2 Vexed 2 Tired, which found the band lamenting the burn out that comes from modern life, Me and My Satellite is a much sweeter affair; an ode to Bissett’s dog Liza.
“It came from the early days of dating my girlfriend where the dog would follow me around the flat, going from room to room, circling me like a satellite” Bissett explains “I sat down with guitar and wrote the first few lines almost as a joke to make my girlfriend smile and finished it within about 15 minutes”
Already a hit at their live shows, Me and My Satellite goes from soft spoken ballad with outer space synths to chugging rocker as Bissett serenades Liza, imagining them singing along to Neil Young songs, wondering if she dreams of her owners.
Me and My Satellite will be available to stream from October 2nd and Uncanny Valley Girls will return to headline the Strongrooms in Shoreditch October 29th to celebrate the release.
