Artist Spotlight: Meet Wagner the Band

How did everything come together?

Pretty chaotically — which, in our world, means perfectly. “Don’t Stop Movin’” started as a riff I was jamming on while I still recovered from an injury. The groove felt like a heartbeat refusing to stop. Then the guys jumped in, and suddenly the whole room was vibrating again. We didn’t overthink it; we just played. Sometimes the best songs come from pure instinct and a little stubbornness.

Is there a particular message or theme you hope listeners take away from “Don’t Stop Movin’”?

Yeah — that life doesn’t wait for you to feel ready. You can fall flat on your face, break down, cry, swear at the universe — just don’t stay there. Get up, take one step, and keep moving. It’s not about being perfect or strong all the time; it’s about refusing to quit. If someone hears the song and gets that spark back, then we did our job.

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

The moment I realized we were actually pulling it off with zero CGI, one old van, and a ton of sweat. (laughs)
We wanted it to look like a wild ride through real life — dust, smoke, and no acting. There was this one take where we played full-on in the middle of the night, everything shaking, amps humming — and for a second it felt like the universe itself was headbanging with us. That’s the take we used.

Can you tell us more about you as a band?

We’re five people who genuinely love playing loud, honest music together. No backing tracks, no secret click in our ears — just groove, sweat, and a lot of grinning. We all come from different musical corners — funk, soul, blues, rock — but we meet right in the middle where it feels alive. We’re brothers (and occasional therapists) on and off stage.

How do you continuously grow and evolve as a band?

By staying curious and hungry. We listen to everything — from Zeppelin to Anderson.Paak to weird 70s funk records nobody remembers. And we play a lot. Every gig teaches you something new about timing, energy, and ego. Also, we keep each other honest — if a take feels fake, someone will say it. Growth comes from those brutal, funny, beautiful moments of truth in the rehearsal room.
