Feature: The Elephant Man Decodes “ECHOES”
What was the creative process like for this particular single?
We wanted to create a sense of suspension — as if observing everything from above — and then reveal ourselves in the chorus, like a kind of sonic revelation.
How did you approach the arrangement and composition of the music for "ECHOES?"
The goal was to build a cyclical harmonic progression based on a dark mood… but the vocal line remains freer, as if searching for a way out. The guitar explosion in the chorus feels like that very escape route for the voice.
Is there a particular message or theme you hope listeners take away from "ECHOES?"
The idea that we are all connected, for better or worse… every choice we make sets off a chain of consequences that affects everyone. Even a small gesture or a chance encounter should never be underestimated.
Can you tell us more about you as a band?
We’re nostalgic for a certain type of sound that ranges from the ’80s to the 2000s… our sound is a direct result of what we’ve listened to over the years. We love sonic contamination and believe that a band’s sound is born from that attitude.
Where do you find inspiration for your songs or musical ideas?
You just have to look around with your eyes open — that’s all it takes. These days, there’s a lot of external input. We also believe it takes courage to put out what we truly like, rather than simply following trends. Trends fade, and if you’re not ready to chase the next one, you’re screwed — and you won’t have developed a personal identity. Art should draw people in, not the other way around.
That kind of inspiration always keeps us going.
