Just Rick On the Making Of “Quaint Celestial Reflections”

Can you tell us about the inspiration behind "Quaint Celestial Reflections" and the story it tells?

“QCR” is about going over dreams in one's mind, the achievement ladder race, and escapism. Realizing one's ambitions may not be all it is cracked up to be. There is always a bong hit to the Cosmos where you can look back, reflect, and ponder life.....

Were there any memorable or standout moments during the recording sessions for this song?

Yes. The studio work was very fun! Dave Hudson, at Hudson Creative, was definitive in adding keyboard flourishes, and spacey effects to project the feel of the song. Also, I was fortunate to bring Jennifer Allsbrook in for harmony and backing vocals. She added another element to the mix and vibe of the song, making it lilting.

How do you feel "Quaint Celestial Reflections" represents your artistic identity?

“QCR” represents the universal side of me. Maybe meta - verse. It is a departure from some of my earlier work which was Rock, Bluegrass, Lounge, etc..

This is deep thoughts, on a higher plain. A trip to a mental state not terrestrial, but unburdened and swirling through space. Reflecting on dreams, chasing them, and the aftermath.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in music?

Started playing drums as a young lad and never looked back. Learned guitar, harmonica, mandolin, and various percussion instruments and stylings.... Still learning.
Playing music is a privilege, blessing, and soothing refuge to the crazy world we live in.

Do you aim to convey any specific themes or messages through your music?

Peace, love, and understanding. We all need it.
