Mitchell Broodley Releases New Duet Single Different's Where I Wanna Be Listen Here
Independent country artist Mitchell Broodley released his third single, Different's Where I Wanna Be (feat. Brittany Ray), on the 3rd June 2026. The pop-country track celebrates imperfect relationships and the idea that different is often perfect.
Written at the piano, the song began as an R&B riff before transforming into a heartfelt country duet. It tells the story of a relationship that may look mismatched to outsiders, yet feels right to those living it. Broodley highlights that perfection is relative and best defined by the couple themselves.
After recording the core instrumentation with a talented group of musicians, including a Grammy winner and nominee, Broodley realised the song needed a female voice. A fan of Brittany Ray’s music, he reached out and was thrilled when she joined the project.
The release continues the momentum from his previous work. His debut Christmas single, Except for Christmas Day, topped Amazon holiday charts, while Overtime Again charted in the UK iTunes Country Top 100 and gained solid Spotify support
for an independent artist.Raised in South Carolina, Mitchell Broodley stepped away from an early music career to pursue law school and build a successful legal career in Vermont. During
the pandemic, he built a home studio and returned to songwriting, recording late-night vocals after his children were asleep. His music blends contemporary country with pop, blues, and honest storytelling drawn from real life as a father and attorney.
