No Cameo Releases “Win A Fortune”

No Cameo’s debut single “Win A Fortune”, due to be released on October 3rd, 2025, marks a huge milestone for the band. A culmination of efforts from a year of testing ideas and pushing their sound in private and in public, this track captures the band’s characteristic blend of post-punk and avant-garde influences, creating a rich and engaging soundscape. The song begins with a powerful riff section introducing a tone of aggression and angst, complimented by its distorted bass and faded slide guitar. This is partnered with tightly orchestrated verses and choruses, allowing the vocals, which range in delivery from subtle to shouted, to establish the true meaning of the track. With lyrics such as, “Know that no man is any good / Act today, win a fortune”, the track explores the theme of toxic behaviours encountered in budding relationships, and developing the self-awareness to identify and pull yourself out of such situations. All of which are lifted from vocalist/guitarist AJ Byrne’s dating experiences as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Win A Fortune” showcases No Cameo’s growth as a band from those who initially exchanged song ideas in Hyde Park’s pubs, bedrooms and basements, to a force to be reckoned with both on record and on stage. Alongside its calculated composition, the production of the track completed by bassist Magnus Fielding presents a genuine rawness that older and new fans alike will appreciate.

Overall, “Win A Fortune” offers a dynamic first look as to what is to come from the Leeds band, not only laying the groundwork for an established post-punk and arty sound but also hinting at the many places where it could go in the future. No Cameo aims to dominate the DIY music scene, the starting pistol shot with the arrival of this introspective, flag planting track.
