Diggsy On the Making Of “Tell Me”

What was the initial spark or idea that led to the creation of "Tell Me?"

The partner I was with at the time and I would talk about if we chose to get married, and what it would look like.

I suffered some health issues which stopped me from working for a several months in 2021, and she was there for me at the time - I wanted to write her a song to impress on her how important she was to me and how the prospect of us together forever looked.

What impact do you hope "Tell Me" will have on your audience?

The end result of the song completion was a juxtaposition, due to the relationship ending - which was really hard for me. It starts with a light energy, but the last part is quite angsty. I hope listeners can relate to the journey of relationships, the ebb and flow, and that the energy that the ending has can help them sing aloud at the top of their lungs and get some of their own frustrations out.

What was your favorite moment in making the music video?

The music video creation was new to me, and I really enjoyed the editing aspect of it - getting the timing right. Also trying to convey that light to dark emotion that I feel in the song.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?

I would love a career in music! But it is a hobby and a side hustle that brings me joy from creation, it's how I get emotions off my chest and out of my mind.

What do you enjoy most about performing live and connecting with your audience?

There's a satisfaction with getting on stage, and belting out something you've created - who knows if people will like it - but it makes me feel like I've achieved something that is important to me.

I enjoy the interaction with the audience and other performers after the show, where you get to chat about what they find enjoyable and learn something from them! I like hearing about people's lives and what brings them all the emotions.
